Zentangle Contour line Project
This artwork uses contour lines to create drawings of a camera, plant leaf, and marker. I used markers to outline the objects, creating emphasis, and colored pencils for the zentangle designs. Using various types of zentangle lines in the artwork helps eliminate white space inside the objects and in the space between them. I chose a split complementary color scheme using purple, blue, and yellow-orange. The contrast between the cool and warm colors in my artwork helps create balance throughout the piece. The variety of tints and shades of the three main colors in the color scheme adds an interesting variety to the overall design of the artwork. While creating this piece, I learned how using a variety of colors and lines can affect the balance and design of an artwork. Creating this drawing improved my knowledge of how to manipulate lines and space to create different effects which will help me in the process of creating projects in the future.
Ink-Blowing Project
Using different ink-blowing techniques, I created this artwork depicting a forest of trees without leaves. This artwork shows the setting sun and the silhouettes of the trees, giving the painting a dark tone. The blank space at the top of the page helps emphasize the dark trees and provides the artwork with a feeling of emptiness that supports the dark tone. The bright orange-red color of the sun produces a splash of color to the otherwise dull and dark painting. The sun offers a nice contrast to the black trees and grey background.

Ceramic Paint Pallet
Using different clay tools and techniques, I created a strawberry-shaped ceramic paint pallet. Starting with a clay slab, I used a paper silhouette template that I drew to make a strawberry shape. Then, I used multiple clay tools to create evenly spaced paint wells in the ceramic pallet. After the clay had dried for several days, I glazed it with a clear coat and prepared it to be fired in the kiln. Working on this project taught me many clay useful clay techniques, such as how to create a slab of clay with even thickness and how to make wells in a piece of clay using clay tools. Overall, the result of this artwork was just as I imagined when I started this project, so I am satisfied with the outcome of my clay paint pallet.

Bob Ross Landscape Painting
To create this painting, I watched a Bob Ross painting tutorial and followed along with the various painting techniques used in the video. I created this painting of a mountain landscape with bushes in the foreground and a lake in front of the trees. For this painting, I mixed various shades of green and orange for the trees and bushes. On the mountain tops, I used different techniques with the help of a pallet knife, which gave the effect of snow-capped peaks. This project exposed me to many diverse painting techniques and how they can create unique effects when painting a landscape.

Perspective drawing
For this city landscape drawing, I used bird's eye view perspective. This drawing depicts a big city scene, with shaded-in buildings, giving the artwork a dark tone. It also contrasts the white background, which adds depth to the piece. I am happy with the final drawing because it gives a unique perspective of buildings that you normally don't see in drawings and offers a contrast between the dark buildings and the white background.

Bear felt stuffie
For my felt stuffie sewing project, I made a bear using pink, tan, light tan, and brown shades of felt. I used a backstitch to sew on the ears, eyes, nose and mouth. I used a whip stitch to connect the ears and the front and back of the head. I am happy with the result of my stuffie sewing project because the stitches are relatively consistent and it looks accurate to the character I was attempting to make. In the process of working on this project, I learned how to make consistent stitching and how to attach a stuffed piece of felt to another stuffed piece of felt.

Egg toast stuffie
For my egg toast stuffie, I used 4 different colors of felt and two types of stitches. To make the egg, I used yellow felt for the yolk and a running stitch to sew it together and for the egg white I used white felt and a whip stitch. To make the toast, I used tan for the crust and light tan for the middle. I used a running stitch to attach them and then flipped it inside out to conceal the stitches. In the process of making my egg toast, I learned how to create a stuffie without the stitches showing and it allowed me to continue to practice sewing consistent stitches.

Watercolor landscapes
For this watercolor painting practice, I did two landscape paintings. The picture to the left is a mountain scene and the one to the right is a sunset with trees. I created these artworks using YouTube tutorials, which was a difficult process, but I'm happy with the end result considering I don't have much experience with watercolors.

Mango crate print
To create this print, I carved my design out of a block of linoleum using various tips for the cutting tool to create different thicknesses of lines. I chose to make a design that depicts a mango crate because mangoes are something that I associate with special memories of spending time with my family. I printed it on orange-tan colored cardstock paper to offer a colored contrast from the black ink. Throughout the process of the project, I learned how to get clean cuts using the linoleum cutting tool and how to print my design so that the ink has bold and defined lines rather than being blurry and smudged.

"Pagsibol" album prints
To create these prints, I carved my design out of a block of linoleum using various tips for the cutting tool to create different thicknesses of lines. I chose to make a design that depicts the cover of one of my favorite albums, based on the design of a loteria card. I used three colors of ink and six different colors of paper. Each color of ink is used on two papers, one of the same color as the ink and one contrasting the ink color. Throughout the process of the project, I learned how to print cleanly and without smudges. I am satisfied with the final project and the color coordination I managed to achieve between the ink and paper colors.

Surrealist watercolor painting
The prompt I was given for this artwork was sand dunes for the landscape and objects that start with the letter "b". The objects I chose to depict in my painting include a blueberry in place of the sun, a birch tree, a barn owl, and a bicycle. I selected these objects to add surrealist elements by placing objects that you would not normally find in this landscape. I started the project by using a wash technique for the sand dunes, sky, tree and blueberry. Once it was dry, I used Prismacolor pencils to add shading to the objects as well as color in the bicycle and owl. While creating this surrealism-style painting, I learned how to place strange objects in an artwork in a way that is meaningful rather than randomly scattered across the page.

Graffiti name art
To create this 3d cardboard piece, I used both bright and pastel spring colors to complement the theme of nature conveyed through the clovers and flowers in the background of the artwork. I chose these designs to represent my love for being out in nature, especially in the springtime when the weather is nice and flowers and clovers start to appear. In my artwork, I used several elements of art, most notably color as seen through the cool color theme throughout the work, and shape, expressed through the graffiti font that is in a bubble art style. I also used highlights on the bubble letters to create the appearance of a smooth and shiny texture.
